Never accepting Limits
Time and again IBD manages to overcome technological limits and re-define the "feasible" phrase. After all, at the forefront of IBD research & development work is the term "advanced" which is a commitment to develop intelligent, pioneering and customer-oriented technologies. IBD advanced materials include ultra-strong alloys, nanometric steels, extremely hard ceramics and energy-absorbing composite fiber materials.
The advantages of these materials are readily apparent – armour weight is reduced by more than 30% and survivability increases with tactical mobility. Thus, extensive IBD research & development opens up new tactical deployment possibilities, cuts costs and, most important of all, consistently protects lives.
Testing and verification of the performance of the technologies and complete protection solutions is done in IBDs own indoor test range and on various other test ranges in Germany and Europe. Up to 2000 tests per year ranging from those with simple test targets up to complete platforms are performed and thereby continuously increase the experience and knowhow database.
