Ultrastrong Mine Protection

As a protection against mines IBD has developed special advanced composite materials. The effect when detonating a mine underneath a vehicle is that a high portion of the explosion energy is absorbed. AMAP-M prevents both the vehicle being catapulted upwards – and the resulting hazardous force exerted on the crew – and fragments penetrating the vehicle.

The high performance of the system – certified in compliance with STANAG 4569 – provides protection against conventional land mines, IED mines and even projectile-forming IED mines. An additional benefit is the considerable 20–30 % reduction in weight compared to conventional systems.
