IBD has extended vehicle protection in the form of AMAP-L – a vital and decisive survivability component. Based on extremely high-grade intelligent composite fibre materials, the Liner system reinforces the basic armor inside the vehicle.
AMAP-L acts as an inner protection system in the event that the outer armor is penetrated by projectiles – the crew is then particularly at risk from fragments and their impact. The Liner system substantially minimizes this impact and enormously increases the survival chances. AMAP-L also contributes to a reduction of signatures - noise, vibrations and IR-signature.
