AMAP-B is a high-technology system specially adapted to protect against ballistic attacks – either as a separate solution or incorporated into a synergistically designed modular overall AMAP concept. Of particular benefit is the high degree of effectiveness coupled with a low areal density.

This is achieved by using the lastest developments of nano-ceramics, nanometric steels, light metal alloys and advanced composite materials. With the new materials the weight of the protection kits can be reduced by 30 to 40 % compared to standard materials. Despite this significant weight reduction the protection kits still show a superior performance in regard to fragments and multi-hit capability according to STANAG 4569/AEP-55.

The AMAP-B armor is a so-called polyvalent protection system. It protects against a broad range of threats. This prevents that it can be bypassed by easy modifications of the threats.
